    Stylist Live 2016

A few weekends back, I headed to Stylist Live with my sister, Kelly. As I am on the Stylist Beauty Council - I was treated to a pair of VIP tickets to the event as a thank you for my contributions. Stylist, for those you who don't know, is a free weekly magazine that is distributed across several cities in the UK. It is such a great magazine that I love reading each week. With the best high street buys, travel tips on a different location each week, the latest beauty & fashion trends and with much more great content, I'm so impressed they keep it free! Each year they hold Stylist Live which is a 4 day show to showcase their favourite brands; lesser known brands; catwalks to show the latest trends which you can shop straight from the high street and, they hold inspirational talks and workshops! And my gosh did we have fun?

I knew that my sister was visiting and we already had plans for the Saturday so I opted for tickets on the Sunday. When we arrived, we were given our gold wristbands and VIP passes on a lanyard and directed to the VIP lounge. Our first port of call was the Catwalk by Swarovski, Stylist has been to London Fashion Week and picked out 5 top trends for AW16 and created a show with high street brands so you could really shop straight from the catwalk.  We sat FROW and loved seeing all the different looks and snapped some photos of outfits we must invest in this season. After the show we headed up to the VIP Garden, where we were treated to blow dries, goody bags and cocktails. The area was stocked with snacks provided by Pip & Nut, Bol, Propercorn, Jude's Ice Cream and Graze to keep us going through the day.

At Stylist there are various talks and workshops during the day and we booked in to a chat with the hilarious Caroline Hirons talking all things beauty! She shared her do's and don'ts with beauty; her top tips on beauty blogging and she even did a skincare surgery where three members of the audience went up on stage and spoke to Caroline about their skincare woes. It really was an interesting talk and she has such a great personality, the whole audience was constantly laughing! The tips I took away were: don't just buy all of the same brand, use Caroline's cheat sheets on her blog, invest in an acid toner and finally a blogging tip: don't look and compare yourself to what others are doing around you, as that is when you start to fail.

After the talk we wandered around the various stalls and purchased a few items before heading back to the VIP Garden to have another cocktail and be back in time for our blow dry. Stylist had organised a salon to come to the event and provide express blow dries, manicures, make up or eyelash extensions. I opted for a blow dry because if you know me, you'll know I'm obsessed with them! The girls were showcasing the new Dyson hairdryer and it was so good to see them in action - it felt so light and looks pretty too. The lovely lady who was doing my blow dry was telling me how they use them back in their salon on a day to day basis so she could really give me a fair review on the product. I now want to invest in one, but they come in at an eye watering £299.

We finished off the day taking some funny snaps in the photo booth and having a final wander around the stalls. I had so much fun as did Kelly and we'd both really recommend heading there next year! For more information head to

    Lots of love,
