This is a restaurant you NEED to know about. With 3 locations in London: Adelaide Street, Drury Lane and Firth Street Barrafina is the acclaimed by many to be the best Tapas restaurant in London. And I can see for myself why!
The only downside is you can't make reservations for any of the locations and they all seat up to 24. So with limited seating you must be prepared to wait. However the wait is most certainly worth it. TIP for getting a seat? Be there as they open at 5pm. I'm not saying you'll for sure get a seat but it's more likely. We headed there on a Friday night around 7pm and I knew we'd have to be prepared to wait. We arrived at the restaurant on Drury Lane and waited around 30 minutes for a table. There is a waiting area where you're welcomed to order drinks and small plates to start your evening. We opted to do this and tasted their Banderillas which were so flavoursome and got us both super excited for the rest of our dinner.
My boyfriend and I were both pretty hungry and both being foodies we wanted to sample as much as we could. They recommend about 2-3 plates per person. We got 8 in total but one was Olives so they don't count, right? I'm going to run through what we had along with snaps so prepare for your mouth to water.
Banderilla
Marinated Olives
Pan con Tomate (tomato bread)
Braised Ox Tounge
Soft Shell Crab
Poached Duck Egg on Brioche
Solomillio De Ternera (FIllet Steak)
Chips, Brava Sauce
Baby Gem, Botarga, Walnuts, Pancetta & Manchego
It's safe to say I really recommend Barrafina. Everything is excellent including the service.
What would you order? Where's your favourite restaurant?
Lots of love,
N x
