    Clerkenwell Design Week

What a busy week for London! First off, there's our previous post, and now this; Clerkenwell Design Week! What I've always adored about CDW is it's accessibility, it's unpretentious, and doesn't just cater for professionals, but also for those that just have an appreciation for beautiful things.

As we were Press this year we were lucky enough to be invited to the CDW2016 Press Breakfast, beautifully hosted at Hix Oyster and Chop House; a gorgeous way to kick the week off. It was here we collected our passes and mingled with others excited what this 2016 edition had to offer.

William Knight, the entire shows director, rounded us all up for a quick walking tour of the main 8 'hearts' of the show, which included Fabric, The Church and Platform. Tom Dixon, who a lot of people will be familiar with - design orientated or not - has done a large installation in St James' church this year and it's the real 'must-see' talking point.

This year CDW is packed with talks, and is sponsored by Vello; the simple, chic folding bike brand. They're actually offering cycling tours around the week but, unfortunately, as I can't ride a bike, we had to politely decline this opportunity.

One stand I totally adored was Another Brand - the in-house designs of Theo Williams Studio. Their blue shaded mirrors would look chic and cool in a modern home, and the layout was attracting and striking.

We will keep posting about any other areas and talks we attend, so make sure you're following our insta; @splitthecity

Anyone else paid CDW a visit? Let me know your thoughts.... M x
