    Holiday Essentials

Hello there readers! I hope you are all doing great. As you are reading this post, I am lying on a beach with pink sand, clear blue water and the hot sun shining – sorry, not sorry. I have flown to Bermuda for a well-needed holiday with Dejon. I wanted to share with you my holiday essentials. I am generally a very organised person so when it comes to packing my bag for holiday, I like to be prepared and know where everything is. I think I got this from growing up, my mum, dad, sister and I used to make checklists and tick things off once we had put them in our suitcases. I didn’t do that this time, but thinking about it, I might do for my next holiday!?

Split The City Meets London Fields Fitness Studio

You can find London Fields Fitness Studio in one of the railway arches by London Fields Station, which is also just a short walk from Hackney Central overground. Take a look at their website and class timetable. As much as Hackney will always be Hackney, it does have a very 'up-and-coming' feel to the area now.
Early one Sunday we had a go at Bootycamp.

    What's in my Bag?

Hey there guys, Martha here. This is a quick little post, as a follow on from Nikki's fantastic 'What's my bag' which you can read in here.
I'm going to talk you through all the pieces that are with me at all times, and are usually carted around in my Marc B handbag (other times it's a Muji backpack).

    Eelbrook | New Kings Road

    Hello there!

Here is a lovely hidden gem I wish I knew about sooner. Eelbrook. This beautiful restaurant is in the heart of Fulham on the New Kings Road. I headed here one evening with my lovely friend Tom. We wanted to try somewhere new and we were super happy when we stumbled upon Eelbrook. For those of you that know Fulham Eelbrook is on corner of Eel Brook Common close to Parsons Green Station. They also have a heated outside area for those who enjoy al fresco dining and perfect all year round!

    SpaLondon, Kensington

This week SpaLondon were kind enough to invite us to experience their newest branch in Kensington. Now, as our West London is currently soaking up the sun in Bermuda, I (Martha) flew solo.
It was a wonderful day of relaxation and pampering, and I definitely recommend SpaLondon to all: their unpretentious and friendly, ensuring you leave feeling totally zen.

A Day to End All Days

    What. A. Day.
We did it all; food, manicures, shopping, walking, markets, sight-seeing, theatre, breathing... And of course we did it in style! It was a belated celebration of our West London half's (The beautiful Nikki) 21st birthday.

    Smoothies and Juices

So this year I've been loving smoothies and juices. For Christmas I got a blender so it stemmed from there, also lots of Instagram posts have had a huge influence.  Towards the end of April I was back in the game, eating clean and on the smoothie/juice hype. I wanted to share with you my top 5 places to grab a juice and/or smoothie.

    Dalston Food Strikes Again!

Dammit, I went foodie again - sorry, not sorry.
This week I enjoyed a cute little lunch date, with my lovely health fanatic friend, on Kingsland Road. Reilly Rocket is the perfect place for a quick lunchtime get-together, from its cozy interior decor to its packing-a-punch food, every last detail is meticulously thought through, ensuring everyone who walks in that door is welcomed and relaxed.

    April Favourites

A little late, yes, but better late than never. April was a wonderful month, where Split the City really sparked; we attended the Olivier Awards, conducted some very exciting e-mails (keep your eyes peeled) and Nikki turned 21! But among all this chaos we still had time to jot down five things each that we completely fell in love with. Here's Split the City's April favourites:

Split the City E-Meets Candy Kittens

    Hello lovely readers,

Hope you are having a great day. Today we are super excited to share with you a review post we have been ever so looking forward to writing...and a rather exciting interview too!

Candy Kittens, for those of you who don't know, is a confectionery brand founded by Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing. They launched in 2012 and since then they have been sky-rocketing; their delicious goodies can be found in pop-up stores, online, in Topshop and in Selfridges. On top of these impressive retailers they're being stocked in Waitrose and were all aboard a Candy Cruise which involved visiting 12 cities in 3 weeks!

    Hip Hop Colouring In

Drink Shop & Do, in Kings Cross, is a great little spot that hosts bizarre events in their cafe, so you can chill with a cocktail and soak up their quirk too. Everything is on the cards here, from temporary tattoo making to lego robots. Our activity for the night? Hip Hop colouring in.
It does exactly what it says on the tin; you listen to hip hop and colour in vectors of your favourite rappers. Armed with my fellow hip hip loving friend Jazz, I set upon essentially ruining the name of Biggie forever.

    Mildreds

I know the blog has been quite food-heavy as of late, and I promise to endeavour to branch out a little more (starting tomorrow with some Hip Hop colouring in...keep your eyes peeled), but when the food is as good as it is at Mildreds, then a girl's gotta blog!

    StreetFest 2015

    Hello all!

Hope you are doing great and enjoyed the bank holiday weekend. Yesterday I attended StreetFest after being invited to go along to blog about the day. It was their 8th year of running the Urban Culture Festival. It was such a great day and it was so nice to see a community come together and support each others talents.

    #VoteFunny

Elephant & Castle is quite the sight to behold....take that however you will. But I'm sure we can all agree that it's...err, quite something.
But, regardless of how you see it, turn one corner to be greeted with the Artworks, and everyone can agree: that place is the bomb!
There's so many colours, coming out at you from every direction; 'inviting' is the word that springs to mind - like an adult candy store.

    Brockley Market

Well, I've eaten my weight in cheese.
South East London is my favourite place in the city, hands down! It's quirky enough to still feel part of London's cultural individuality, but it's quiet enough to still feel as though you're only just discovering it.
Early Saturday morning Brockley Market is held in Lewisham College car park, and it's an utter dream. A quick wander around and you're overwhelmed with the local choice, and the delectable smells.

    Fun Friday's

It was time for my sister to join the celebrations. After checking into the Doubletree by Hilton in Hyde Park we jumped in a car to Charlotte Street to try out the highly recommend Obicà restaurant.
